HMC – PATIENT RELATIONS has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time (100% FTE) Patient and Family Liaison Supervisor (job profile: Program Support Supervisor I (SEIU 925 Supervisory)). The Patient and Family Liaison Supervisor is responsible for supervising staff and volunteers involved in the liaison program and assists the manager of Patient Relations in further development and expansion of the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to daily liaison duties, this positions assist the manager of patient relations in the supervision of the liaison staff in the following duties:

Supervise and work with belongings and valuables staff in new Patient Relations process that is yet to be determined with the Assistant Director and Director of Patient Relations.

Daily coordination of liaison staff, including elevating issues that need to be brought to the attention of the Manager of Patient Relations and other leadership throughout the hospital.

Interview and recommend selection of new liaisons; train new employees

Work in setting priorities for the liaison daily as well as long term.

Coordinate oversight of the Patient and Family Liaison volunteer program.

Coordinate the collection of accurate and meaningful data for the program.

Assist all liaison staff on meeting deadlines.

Coordinate appropriate and significant educational opportunities for the liaisons.

This position will cover the desk at the Patient and Family Resource Center when needed.

REQUIREMENTS

High school graduation or equivalent AND three years of applicable experience in the program specialty

OR

equivalent education/experience.

DESIRED

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to communicate with and deal tactfully with all levels of hospital personnel, physicians, visitors and patients.

Experience with working with patients and their families in who are in the midst of crisis situations.

Computer skills desired: Experience with databases, Microsoft Word, spreadsheets, Internet searches, SharePoint
