As the Program Executive of Youth Sports, you will oversee the operation of all sports programs throughout the Association and ensure we fulfill our responsibility to the community to serve youth and their families through positive experiences that teach them the value of community togetherness. Our Youth Sports Program will focus on the development of the whole child through age-appropriate and character-based curriculum, delivered in a judgment-free environment that allows all participants to learn, develop, and be filled with joy. The Y is committed to providing a high-quality and non-competitive youth sports program for young people to grow into well-rounded athletes, realize their potential as global thinkers, as well as gain technical skills along with a sense of achievement, belonging, and teamwork. This position reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and is based at the Association Offices.
Salary: $75,000- $83,000 per year, depending on experience.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
You have a bachelor’s degree in sports management, recreation management, kinesiology, physical education, human services, business, or equivalent experience and 2+ years of management and/or leadership experience in sports/youth development.
You have a demonstrated history of leadership in the areas of volunteer and employee development, budget and fiscal management, financial development, community development, and strategic planning.
You demonstrate a deep commitment to the mission and core values of the YMCA of Austin and a willingness to work evenings and weekends during youth sports seasons to produce the highest-quality sports experience possible.

Essential Functions
Performance Achievement & Results (25%)
Hold team accountable for achieving at high levels to meet strategic goals and objectives.
Model inclusive leadership behaviors and embrace all dimensions of diversity – building strong teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to our mission.
Responsible for hiring, coaching, and managing all direct reports and ensuring alignment with association people practices for all positions within their organizational structure.
Conduct Quarterly Check-ins and the Annual Check-In with direct reports to ensure progress with OKRs, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and discuss development opportunities.
Implement a goal-based leadership approach (OKR methodology) and ensure the development department is actively working towards supporting organizational level objectives and key results.
Operations & Strategy (50%)
Evaluate annual operating plan to determine program offerings.
Assess existing program offerings to ensure community needs are being met.
Explore new communities and programs to expand the reach of youth sports to families not currently being served.
Create and lead strategy to promote family memberships and other Y programs offerings to youth sports participants and drive conversions.
Identify and establish partnerships to better serve youth and families.
Model the creation of relationship-centered, by cultivating relations ships with program participants, parents, and key stakeholders. Ensure that the member experience is at the center of everything we do.
Create and maintain a program atmosphere that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. Executes strategies to ensure that program participants connect and connect with the YMCA
Develop, implement, and manage operating plans to promote sports growth for the YMCA
Routinely evaluate program and service quality and institute corrective action when necessary. Adapt to the needs of our community when necessary.
Establish new program activities and expand the program within the community following the Association and branch strategic plans.
Maintain clean, safe facilities/fields/gyms that lend themselves to great customer service.
Guarantee high-quality equipment and supplies for our members and program participants to enjoy.
Communication & Advancement (10%)
Promote and incorporate the YMCA core values, and character development model into all program activities.
Foster a climate of innovation to develop programs that champion the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
Create an annual marketing plan to promote and create awareness of program information to team members, members, program participants, and the community in partnership with the Marketing Department.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other community organizations, volunteers, and stakeholders.
Ensure that all parent and community inquiries are responded to in a timely fashion.
Leads Sports Impact Team.
Participate and solicit others for necessary YMCA financial development programs such as Annual Campaigns, capital projects, special events, etc.
Ensure consistent communication and correspondence with coaches, parents, volunteers, and team members.
Risk Management (5%)
Ensure that all volunteers, team members, and any individual participating in youth sports has a “clear” criminal background check before interacting with children.
Assure compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that program standards are met, safety procedures are followed, and emergency procedures are followed per Association Guidelines.
Ensure proper and safe supervision of all program participants.
Ensure safety procedures are followed and incident/accident reports are filed promptly.
Work with the compliance department to create risk management procedures for program administration and team members.
Ensure waivers and appropriate risk management paperwork and trainings are completed for all participants and volunteers.
Develop and implement safety procedures for all programs and events.
Complete ongoing performance evaluations of team members and volunteers.
Fiscal Management & Financial Development (5%)
Manage, review, and achieve the annual operating budget for Association sports programs. Use data to analyze financial trends and forecast future financial progress.
Implement strategies to grow program enrollment through successful marketing campaigns, high-quality programs, and great member and participant experience.
Continually look for ways to incorporate more efficient operating practices.
Evaluate and recommend growth and retention strategies including the possibility refer a friend, discounts, and multi-season packages.
Display a high level of fiscal competence through accurate budget forecasting and variance reporting.
Collaborate with the Development Department to set a strategy to fully engage community leaders, corporations, members, team members, and volunteers in a successful Annual Campaign, including sponsorships.
Focus on identification, cultivation, and closing formal requests to capable sources of major gifts.
Community Development (5%)
Leverage community leadership and connections to position the Y as the leading human development organization in central Texas.
Deepen partnerships with local school districts.
Identify and engage with leaders and groups within the service community to tell the Y Story and discern optimal partners related to our three areas of focus.
