Job Description : Position: Public Relations & Information Director
Location: Adamson Square, Carrollton, GA
Department: Economic Development & Community Relations
Reports to: Vice President, Economic Development & Community Relations
FLSA Designation: Exempt

Nature of Duties: The Public Relations & Information Director is responsible for developing strategic communications and marketing plans for WGTC and/or its Foundation.
Manage the production of publications and information including but not limited to the College presentations, annual report, press releases, social media, etc. +
Maintain the professional branding image of the college, direct media relations efforts, manage press conferences, respond to routine and complex inquiries from students and the general public
Develop and manage the financial/budget operation of the department
Supervises the Public Relations and Information staff; routinely evaluate the performance of the department and staff
Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures, ensure compliance with any applicable state and federal laws that affect the performance of the Public Relations and Information Division and/or the branding of the college
Develop, maintain, and implement annual communications plan and marketing plan for the College
Attend events/functions by, for, and related to the college, occurring within and outside the normal work week; travel as required within the college’s seven-county service area and/or beyond
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree *and* three (3) years of work-related experience.
NOTE: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
Must qualify to be a state purchasing card holder prior to interview which includes a credit check.

Salary/Benefits: The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $65,000 with the State of Georgia benefits package.

Selected candidate must successfully complete a background check to include employment references, criminal history, and verification of employment prior to hire.
West Georgia Technical College is not currently sponsoring work visas at this time.
This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
WGTC reserves the right to close positions at any time.

Supervisory Responsibility
Has oversight over all positions within the department.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment and technologies, and requires business attire and professionalism.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. This position occasionally requires longer hours and some weekend work.

Travel
Travel to other campus locations is required. Some overnight travel may be required.
