Job Description : Remittance Processing OperatorSalary: $15.00 /Hour + DOESchedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pmStart a career with First National Bank Alaska, the *Best Place to Work in Alaska* as recognized six years in a row by Alaska Business magazine readers.GENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARYProcesses customers’ remittance through manual and automated systems by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Performs data entry to generate balanced deposits from customers’ remittance mail.Opens, sorts and batches incoming mail.Prepares copies and images of deposited items.Provides daily activity reports to customers.Cleans and replenishes processing equipment.Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum: Six months clerical experience; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.Preferred: Financial industry experience.SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to keyboard 35 wpm and operate a 10-key calculator by sight required. Experience using document processor and mail extraction equipment.LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization both verbally and in writing.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to accurately identify numbers in units of hundreds, thousands and millions.REASONING SKILLS: Ability to apply common sense understanding while carrying out written, oral, or diagram instructions; and to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear.
