We are looking to develop a sales professional to execute business development activities, while being trained to enter an outside sales role. We are looking for an aggressive and goal-oriented individual looking to develop their professional career with a goal to move into a business-to-business outside sales role. This position will be used as a training ground to mentor and develop employees who have limited experience and are interested in learning how to independently manage a sales territory.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop qualified business opportunities through business-to-business outbound phone calls, averaging about 50 calls per dayImplement strategic business development activities, including e-marketing campaigns, direct mailers, and drip-feed marketing campaignsWrite and share marketing intelligence reports for the outside sales forceBuild custom target market contact listsSet up, plan and present product lines to safety and facility managers, architects, engineers, specialty consultants and contractorsUpdate customer/prospect/lead database with your daily activities and new contact namesConduct field sales calls with outside sales staff to gain experience interacting directly with customers and assessing their needsLearn all aspects of our business, product lines, and the industry as a wholePerform other specific tasks as requested by senior leadersEducation, Experience and SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing or Risk Management desirable, but not requiredProactive mindset to recognize direct and indirect opportunities for lead generation and salesWorking knowledge of MS Office (specifically Excel, Word and Outlook),and CRM toolsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (written as well as verbal)Self-motivated, individual contributor and team playerAbility to learn and adapt in a rapidly growing environmentIndividual characteristicsAs the Business Development Specialist, your attitude and aptitude are critical.
