Position : Clinic Receptionist C
Job Description : As a Clinic Receptionist C, you will register patients for Emergency and Outpatient services by ensuring that complete and accurate information is obtained. To help achieve our mission, you will be held accountable for the efficient operation of the front desk and reception functions of a clinic or outpatient department. Your ability to provide a variety of administrative and clerical support to facilitate the smooth operation of a clinic or department is required.
Job Responsibilities
Answers/screens telephone calls and takes accurate messages. Responds to inquiries and provides appropriate information or refers to other staff members.
Collates/processes all medical charts and authorizations for billing accurately and in accordance with established schedules.
Performs a variety of other clerical tasks such as making copies, sending/receiving faxes along with opening and distributing mail.
Monitors office supplies/forms and ensures that a sufficient quantity is on hand at all times.
Updates existing or creates new patient records by ensuring that information is complete and up to date.
Contacts appropriate reimbursement source to verify insurance or corporate benefit coverage. Reviews coverage with patients as appropriate.
Confirms reimbursement source (Workers’ Compensation, insurance coverage, corporate agreement, etc.) and ensures that the correct paperwork is in place or completed.
Collects appropriate payments, logs in to ledger or automated system, calculates receipts and prepares packages for courier pick-up in accordance with established procedures and schedules.
Additional Requirements
Education:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
One year of experience in an office environment.
Skills:
MS Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access).
