Job Description : Job Summary: This position is primarily responsible for the enforcement of residential and commercial property maintenance and zoning ordinances of the City.Essential Functions: Conduct routine inspections of residential and commercial propertyInvestigate complaints of violations from citizens and staffNotify property owners of violations and issue warnings and citationsMust be familiar with community-based organizations that can provide assistance to property owners who need help with maintaining their propertyFollow up on noncompliance of citations, and if necessary, prepare cases for court to ensure complianceWork closely with the public and other departments and divisions of the city to coordinate enforcementPrepare various reports, letters and memosMaintain documents and files, and is responsible for updating the enforcements logsPerform related tasks as requiredKnowledge, skills and abilitiesKnowledge of code enforcement principles, practices and methods as applicable to an urban/rural settingWorking knowledge of applicable laws, city charter and codified ordinances relating to commercial and residential property and zoning issuesAbility o conduct thorough visual inspectionsAbility to prepare, organize and maintain inspection field data, reports and systemsAbility to analyze the situations and communicate in a positive manner with property ownersAbility to establish and maintain working relationships with employees, officials, citizens, and general publicJob Type: Full-timePay: $19.86 – $26.64 per hourBenefits:Health insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayWork Location: One location
