Job Description : St. Mary’s ParishJOB DESCRIPTION: COMMUNICATION AND SOCIAL MEDIA PERSON CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPT PART TIME (HOURS PER WEEK)REPORTS TO: ADMINSTRATOR/PASTORMajor Area of Responsibility: Preparesweekly Church bulletinBe aware of parish and local events, holidays and feast daysMaintains Church website and create contentCreates pages for different ministries and groupsMaintains and creates content for Facebook and InstagramPrepares a weekly email newsletter through constant contacts/Flock noteUpdates email list accordinglyAssist with answering calls and questions as neededTax statement preparations for parishionersLocal Safe Environmental CoordinatorMaintains records for Church both at the parish and on VirtusProvides training opportunities for volunteers and staffEnsures parish is following all Archdiocesan guidelinesProtecting God’s Children workshop facilitatorData Entry Enters envelope and donation information into ParishSoft databaseSpecial Event ProjectsHelp prepare booklets for St. Mary’s and Marian NovenasHelp prepare promotional materials for special eventsQualificationsExcellent communicationBe able to put ideas into words to voice the parish messages and excellent communication with colleaguesCreativityWriting ability. The ability to use captivating writing to engage readers all of parish updates, events and contentsMulti-tasker, maintain social media profiles, parish schedules, while keeping track of deadlines in accordance with parish guidelinesJob Type: Part-timePay: $13.00 – $18.00 per hourSchedule:Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:Nutley, NJ 07110: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Education:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Social Media Occupations: 1 year (Preferred)Marketing: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
