For more information, visit www.streamsongresort.com.Purpose and Scope: The Director of Food and Beverage is responsible for concept design, organization, and leadership of the Food & Beverage Division and forms part of the Hotel Leadership team who collectively make key strategic and operational decisions for the Resort. The Director manages all Food & Beverage operations, including all restaurants, bars & lounges, banquets, In-room Dining. The primary responsibilities for this position are to ensure our guests receive the highest level of food quality and service, manage and develop a team, devise and monitor an annual budget, manage labor control and operating expenses and create relationships with key suppliers and industry associates. Reports to the property General Manager.Essential Functions: · Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Food & Beverage division, ensuring all service standards are executed and meet standards.· Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.· Structure and manage numerous simultaneous projects and initiatives, demonstrating strong program management prowess (quality, timeliness, deliverables).· Achieves and exceeds goals, including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.· Work closely with Executive Chef, Catering & Conference Services, and Director of Events & VIP Experience to embrace, align and execute elevated experiences.· Lead overall beverage program strategies, operations, partners/vendors.· Continually analyze, forecast, monitor, and control the labor and food costs through various methods to meet/exceed management/budget objectives.· Lead and support all Food & Beverage departments in the achievement of their financial and operational targets. Prepare annual budgets and administer in a fiscally responsible manner.· Coaches and supports the food & beverage leadership team to effectively manage wages, food & beverage costs, and controllable expenses (e.g., restaurant supplies, uniforms, etc.).· Along with the Executive Chef, drive the implementation of concepts, promotions, and menus.· Respond to customer trends, needs, issues, comments, and concerns to ensure a quality experience and constantly seek ways to improve product and service and increase volumes and profits.· Ensure compliance with human resources procedures, facilitate and monitor training, recommend the hiring, terminating, or disciplining any Food and Beverage employee.· Provides guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting and monitoring performance standards and holds staff accountable for successful performance.· Coaches team by providing specific feedback to improve performance.· Ensures expectations and objectives are clearly communicated to employees; encourages employees to raise questions and/or concerns openly, ensuring employees are treated fairly and equitably.· Brings issues to the attention of Human Resources as necessary and ensure compliance with policy and procedures.· Monitor the operation of food outlets to ensure compliance with all standards and procedures established by the company and health and regulatory standards and policies.· Improves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.· Reviews findings from comment cards and guest satisfaction result with F& B team and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken.· Shares plans to take corrective action based on comment cards and guest satisfaction results with property leadership.· Reviews comment cards, guest satisfaction results, and other data to identify areas of improvement.· Create and empower employees to provide excellent guest service.Non-Essential Functions: Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.Participate in committees and facilitate company training as requested.Knowledge and Skills: Education:A four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience.Experience:5 – 7 years of progressive Food and Beverage experience. A minimum of three years as Director of Food and Beverage within an upscale resort environment with oversight of multi-outlet operations and annual F&B revenue at or exceeding twelve-millions dollars.Skills and Abilities:Must have the ability to assimilate complex information data and modify it to meet the constraints of the particular need.
