Job Description : DOT Compliance Manager Job Summary:Under limited supervision, this position will be responsible for the organization’s transportation operations to ensure the maintenance of compliance with all Federal andState regulations. This role will develop policies in alignment with applicable regulations and lead driver training on safety policies, procedures, and regulations. This position will be an advisor to the operational divisions building stakeholder relationships and provide direction on safety advisement, policy development and risk management.This role will be responsible for the overall Department of Transportation (DOT) andFederal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) rules and regulations compliance.Providing the highest level of services to our customers, as well as a safe workplace for our employees. The DOT Compliance Manager will be responsible for safety and regulatory compliance of all fleet vehicles across multiple business lines.Key Responsibilities:Maintain knowledge of laws and regulations for Commercial Motor Vehicle drivers and fleet operations for federal, state and local agencies by monitoring changes in the regulatory environment to ensure all affected personnel are current with the requirements and understand their role in complianceMaintain compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations and ensure necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelinesDevelop, supervise, and execute employee and/or driver training on safety policies, procedures, and regulations in the transportation industryDevelop health and safety guidelines, policies, and processes in alignment with all applicable regulations and laws; communicate as appropriate throughout the organizationCreate, promote, and manage employee involvement in safety programs; design safety management incentives for all employees; and provide guidelines on contractor safetyComplete appropriate federal, state, and locally mandated reports on a timely basisIdentify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.Review safety training and make necessary revisions, improvements, and updatesConduct safety inspections and audits, to access employee compliance with safety regulationsInspect equipment and recommend repairs / replacements On-board CMV andNon CMV drivers meeting the federal requirementsComplete driver qualifications files in accordance with federal requirementsManage drug and alcohol processMaintain driver files and update time sensitive documents before they expireParticipate in the driver recruiting processEnsure on-boarding and orientation trainings are completed in a timely mannerEnsure all annual trainings are completedEnsure all annual requirements are metWork with all parties involved to develop sound safety policies and risk management policiesDevelop systems that will notify operations and management when drivers are outside or about to be outside of complianceImplement Corporate Safety PoliciesMonitor federal, state, and local laws and regulations about safety and making revisions on company safety manuals as neededReview and document accidents and/or, reported by employees, drivers and/or customersOther duties as instructedQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management or Communication5 years of DOT Compliance and Safety experienceStrong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA rules and regulationsExperience in the transportation industryExperience working in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of safe operation of Class B equipmentAbility to speak publicly and instruct othersAbility to lead and direct othersWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).Compensation$80,000 Annual Salary$20,000 Annual Bonus OpportunityAnthem Gold Medical / Dental / Life Insurance – 80% Paid by Employer4 Week Paid Time Off9 Paid HolidaysLaptop / Cell Phone ProvideCar AllowanceJob Type: Full-timePay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per yearBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offSchedule:Monday to FridayWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:Bonus payEducation:Bachelor’s (Required)Work Location: One location
