Job Description : Specialty chemicals company in Bay City hiring an EHS Coordinator. Great pay with benefits. AAP/EOEJob Summary:The EHS Representative will serve as a member of the Environmental Health and Safety team and support the EHS Manager. The primary function of the position is to assist the EHS Manager with all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security programs and ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State and local legislation and regulation, as well as adherence to company policies and procedures. This position is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Chemicals Incorporated’s Environmental, Health, Safety and Security programs in a manner that reduces risk, prevents incidents, and complies with external regulatory requirements to provide an environment that is safe and secure for all employees, visitors, and contractors.Responsibilities:Ensure all operations on site take place in accordance with the EHS expectations of Chemicals Incorporated and local, state, and national regulating authorities. In doing so responsibilities are:· Work with EHS Manager to schedule and lead safety meetings· Provide site EH&S orientations to new employees, visitors and contractors· Conduct weekly site safety inspections· Conduct and report safety equipment inspections when required by policy and law. Correct deficiencies immediately upon discovery. Verify the completion of safety inspections on operating and maintenance equipment, as well as the completion of any identified corrective action needed.· Participate in site OSHA/EPA inspections· Perform accident/incident investigations· Assist EHS Manager in developing written EH&S programs, guidelines, policies, etc. and review/revise them on a periodic basis or as required· Complete all paperwork associated with safety inspections, accident/incident follow-ups, employee training, safety orientations· Provide a strong floor presence within the job site· Originate and maintain all safety and environmental related inspection and training related files and records according to Corporate, State and Federal guidelines.· Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Experience and Skills:· Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related field.· Minimum 2 years’ experience in a chemical plant EH&S compliance environment.· Excellent oral and written communication skills.· Completed OSHA 30 and DOT training.· Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)· Exemplary influencing and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization both orally and in writing.· Ability to maintain accountability and discipline to achieve results in a dynamic, fast growing environment while leading a 24/7 operation.· Demonstrated problem-solving and team building skills.· Able to work flexible hours as needed to support the entire production team.Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 – $28.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayWork Location: One location
