$20.20 per hour
Seasonal – full time position assists with everyday fruit processing operations. Performs various tasks such as monitoring the flow of fruit through the operation line and adjusting the speed accordingly. Responsible for monitoring various pieces of equipment (i.e., brush-washers, grading tables, sizers, extractors, pumps, finishers, etc.). Position also troubleshoots issues as they occur, and controls the flow and sizing of fruit from the bins to the extractor floor.
Position requires the following (to be completed with or without a reasonable accommodation): Position requires lifting up to 55 lbs. multiple times a day, pushing up to 28 lbs. and pulling up to 48 lbs. Also requires bending, reaching, being on one’s feet for extended periods of time, and the ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Requires the safe operation of Powered Industrial Equipment, such as a golf cart, and the ability to safely handle cleaning products and chemicals. Must be able to work at heights of multiple stories and outdoors during all times of the year.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensure all safety rules, procedures, policies, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are followed, and any safety gaps are addressedControl and monitor the flow and sizing of fruit and adjust speed, as needed, from the bins to the extractor floorCommunicate any issues with lead and bin operator, both verbally and in writing (i.e., via Microsoft Outlook)Ensure reliable and safe operation of equipment through troubleshooting and working with maintenance to identify issuesTroubleshoot issues as they occur on all applicable equipmentWork independently
Follow food safety standardsPerform all functions associated with Pump Room Operator, Fruit/Extractor Operator, Peel Oil OperationsKeep area clean of fruit and debrisOperate machinery and monitor various pieces of equipment (i.e., brush-washers, grading tables, sizers, extractors, pumps, finishers, etc.)Ensure assigned shift/team required training and compliance matters are completed on timeCommunicate with the lead, advisor, electrician, mechanic, and processing team as needed when process upsets occur
Build the capability of the organization through on-the-job trainingPerform clean-up during production interruptions, or as directed by lead or supervisorWork safely with chemicals (lye, bleach, etc.)Communicate with internal customers regarding all regulatory and/or internal quality paperworkMaintain relevant documents and keep recordsParticipate in department safety audits and department walk-throughsKeep work area to 5S standards and maintain good housekeeping at all times
Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
18 years or older
HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
Experience using a computer with the ability to operate basic Microsoft Office Suite programs (i.e., Outlook)Experience working in a manufacturing setting and operating various pieces of machinery and equipment
Note: This role is currently part of the PepsiCo organization, but as a result of an announcement made on August 3, 2021, this role is planned to transfer to the new standalone Juice Joint Venture entity owned by both PAI Partners, a European Private Equity firm, and PepsiCo, contingent on final regulatory approval and closure of the related deal.
