Job Description : JOIN REDMOND!
City of Redmond’s Human Resources Department has an exciting HR Analyst opportunity to support the payroll division through processing a semi-monthly, full-cycle payroll for approximately 700 employees. Payroll is processed in-house, rather than utilizing a third-party vendor.

Your typical day may include addressing labor contract issues or interpreting policy, assisting with leave of absence processing, providing technical support by researching payroll issues, reconciling payroll activities, and answering calls and emails to customers and employees.
This is a perfect job if you have at least three years of HR or Payroll related experience supporting a labor environment such as construction, manufacturing, or with another government agency.

This is a full-time, limited duration position with full benefits and an anticipated contract end date of October 29, 2022. As we prepare for the biannual budgets for 2023, there is potential that this position can become ongoing.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
About You
To really thrive in this HR Analyst position you must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, work well with numerical data, and manage your time in this fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. You must have excellent customer service skills to research and answer employee questions about paychecks, benefit deductions, leave balances, and the payroll database in a friendly and timely manner because people are our business.

About the Job
Some of the key features of this job include the following.
Maintaining accuracy and functionality of payroll database and provide technical support with inquiries related to payroll systems, processing, and procedures.
Working with our labor negotiations team and apply interpretation to bargaining contracts, city ordinance and policies related to compensation payment and deductions
Ensuring proper reporting and payment of all tax, retirement, unemployment security, worker’s compensation, and payroll transactions.
Coordinate and modify payroll codes to ensure proper accounting for wages, deductions, benefit, tax and leave accruals.
Performing technical accounting reconciliation as it relates to payroll
Auditing information entered in the payroll system to ensure City Policy, seven Collective Bargaining Agreements, and Federal and State Laws are followed.

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of related experience; or
Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Public sector and union experience preferred.
COVID-19 vaccination verification is required to be furnished upon job offer, absent an approved accommodation.

SELECTION PROCESS:
It is highly encouraged to apply by March 20, 2022. At this time, we will begin reviewing applications and scheduling screening calls. Once a pool of qualified candidates is identified, this position may be closed prior to the published closing date.

Ideally, we will be interviewing and making a final decision by April 1.

The City is accepting applications from internal and external applicants. The City may review existing application pools to fill this position or use this pool to fill future vacancies.

Top candidates will be contacted to participate in the next phase of selection, which may include phone screening and/or an interview. Candidates who are selected to interview will be required to complete a Background Authorization form to have a thorough background investigation conducted.
