Job Description : The Department of Administration, Division of Personnel and Labor Relations, Recruitment Services Section is recruiting for two Human Resource Technician 2 positions in Juneau! These position are in the Confidential Employees Association (CEA) at salary range 14.

The Division of Personnel and Labor Relations services all Executive Branch employees in the areas of Recruitment, Classification, Learning & Development, Equal Employment Opportunity, Employee Planning and Information, Labor Relations, Absence Management, and Employee Relations.

The Recruitment Services Section is staffed by the Recruitment Services Manager, three Human Resource Consultants, and fourteen Technicians. Their collective experience and competence provides professional human resources services in the area of recruitment. What you will be doing:
Under the general supervision of the Human Resource Consultant 1, you will be assisting with recruitments for the State of Alaska. Duties include posting positions to Workplace Alaska, sending referrals to hiring managers, reviewing and approving hire requests, and other tasks as needed to support departments with their recruitment needs. You will also collaborate with other HR Technicians in your workgroup, reviewing various recruitment scenarios and providing solutions that comply with our statewide and departmental policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations

Where you will be working:
This position’s assigned work location is the 10th floor of the State Office Building, 333 Willoughby Avenue in Juneau, Alaska. You will be interacting with clients and team members in an office setting, over the phone, and in a digital environment. This includes using MS Office/365 applications including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others.

Minimum Qualifications
Six months of entry technical level experience in human resource work equivalent to a Human Resource Technician I with the State of Alaska.
Substitution:
Graduation from high school or the equivalent and one year of advanced clerical experience. This experience is equivalent to a Human Resource Assistant, Office Assistant II, or Accounting Clerk with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent elsewhere.
Substitution:
One year of post secondary education (32 semester hours or 48 quarter hours from an accredited college or university equals one year) in any field.
Special Note:
High school graduation “equivalent” means one of the following: 1) a G.E.D.; 2) completion of any basic adult education course of 480 class hours (16 weeks at 30 hours per week); 3) six months of work experience performing duties related to office or clerical support; 4) twelve months of work experience involving some routine tasks related to office or clerical support; 5) highest grade of school completed plus any kind of work experience which totals 12 years; or 6) acceptance in full standing by an accredited college or university.
“Human resource” includes experience in recruitment and selection, classification, employee training, employer provided benefits programs, employment law compliance, personnel and payroll or labor relations.

INTERVIEW
Applicants invited for an interview are required to provide the following at the time of interview:
1. List of three (3) professional references including daytime phone numbers one of which must be a current supervisor.
2. A copy of your most recent performance evaluation or letter of recommendation.
3. College transcripts (if using education to meet the minimum qualifications). These can also be attached to your application at the time of submission.

If post-secondary education is required to meet the minimum qualifications, you must fill in the Education and Training section of the Applicant Profile. If you have not obtained a degree, please indicate the number of credit hours earned in the Degrees Obtained field. Copies of transcripts will be required at the time of interview.
