Job Description : Hourly arrangement that provides library services to incarcerated clients. Supports academic and vocational programs by maintaining an organized, up-to-date media resource center. Teaches library information skills and assists patrons with a selection of reading materials.

This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12 month period of May 1 – April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience working with a certified Librarian. General knowledge of library operations.Ability to manage effectively all aspects of library programs. Knowledge of general library practices regarding operating procedures, accessing reading materials (books, periodicals, newspapers, reference material), use of technology available and interacting effectively with incarcerated clients.

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer experience working in a correctional or alternative school library setting.

Special Requirements
All applicants are subject to a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen.

The investigation may include: fingerprint checks (State Police, FBI); local agency checks; employment verification; verification of education (relevant to employment); credit checks; and other checks requested by the hiring authority.
