With backing from top tier investors including Sequoia Capital, Valor Equity Partners, GV, among others, and recognition as one of Fortune Magazine “Impact 20,” Forbes “AI Fifty Companies to Watch” and as the “Rising Star Company of the Year” in the 2020 Global Cleantech 100, we’re looking for exceptional talent to support our mission.The candidate for New Business Development will lead AMP’s thinking and approach to a key new market, building the strategy and evolving into its execution. This leadership role will formulate and manage AMP’s new materials processing strategy, initially by building a sound business case, with a clear focus on operationalization, around which the company can then organize through strategic partnerships and business relationships to execute a new phase of growth. The candidate will work closely with AMP Departments such as engineering, product, finance, operations and facility operations to develop and then execute the plan. This role will report to the Head of Global Development.As our New Business Development you will work to: Develop a new materials processing strategy and manage its implementation for both in and outbound material;Collaborate internally to master AMP’s capabilities and determine the best fit for new areas of application;Identify and foster partner relationships that can enable AMPs new materials processing strategy;Build a sound business case with all the necessary elements (market analysis, technological feasibility, financial modeling, strategic thinking, regulatory obstacles or enablers, executability) with a drive to operationalize in the near term;Develop an execution playbook and management console (i.e. Salesforce or similar) for the new materials processing strategy;Lead the implementation of this strategy;Direct outside consultant activities retained in support of this effort;The successful candidate will have: 10+ years of leadership experience in business development, ideally in the fields of waste management, recycling, renewables, power trading and/or origination;Excellent strategic thinking complemented by an attention to the details which can make or break an executable plan;Strong and demonstrated business acumen and savvy in technology and business development;Analytic skills combined with the ability to own a strategic development plan, internalizing market data, financial, and operational considerations;Demonstrated ability to develop new business relationships quickly and to negotiate and close business opportunities;Ability to manage multiple priorities, prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic entrepreneurial environment;Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, capable of tailoring to audiences as varied as CEO, government officials, as well as manual laborers;Strong strategic and financial acumen/skills with business model-orientation including developing/building detailed financial models, primary inputs and outputs alongside the ability to understand relevant strategic considerations;Excellent leadership ability and proven track record of success with team development;Project and process management abilities that are demonstrated by successfully managing multiple complex projects simultaneously across geographies and/or organizations;Individual drive and ability to push cross-functional teams to excel;The successful candidate will have:Permission to work in the United States and ability to travel globally; andImpeccable integrity as well as ability to pass a comprehensive background screening.BA/BS degree, preferably in engineering or business, MBA or equivalentLocation: Preference for Denver, San Francisco, Atlanta but other locations are acceptable as well.Compensation: $175,000 – $200,000 + Bonus + EquityOther duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
