Job Description : Office Assistant – Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder (UUCB)The Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder is a vibrant, progressive religious community of 240 members. We are in a time of change and growth: emerging from two years of pandemic and having newly called our Lead Minister, we are excited for a Membership Coordinator to build on a strong record of lay and ministerial leadership to support newcomers becoming fully engaged members of the community.Responsibilities: The Office Assistant supports the mission of UUCB with duties related to a wide variety of areas of church life: office management; managing building use and scheduling; monitoring building issues; and other administrative duties as assigned. Each year typical has a few long-term projects in addition to the duties described below.Reports to: The Office Assistant reports to the Lead Minister.Direct reports: noneHours: 20 hours/week total; Sundays 8:00-1:00, with the remaining 15 hours during business hours on at least three week days.Pay: $20-$23/hour depending on experiencePosition requirements: Ability to drive and access to a car during work hours. Ability to lift and bend enough to set up tables and chairs.Duties: Office Management Answer and route email, phone calls, and physical mail.Financial administration (payment tracking, bill payment, routing invoices, etc.)Administrative support (printing, scanning, mailing, data entry, etc.)Maintain UUCB bulletin boards, signage, weekly announcements slidesOrdering and tracking purchases from staff or committeesMaintain electronic and physical filing and organizational systemsCoordinate Building Use Coordinate building use by church members (using google calendar)Manage short-term building rentals (respond to inquiries, show building, manage building use agreements).Serve as liaison to long-term building rentersServe as liaison to cleaning serviceBuilding Management Monitor building status and forward issues to the Buildings and Grounds committee chair or relevant contractorSupporting Building and Grounds (respond to emergency needs; coordinate and schedule regular preventive maintenance: snow, trash, lawn, cleaning, etc.)Required Qualifications.Bachelor’s degree; demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams; high degree of organization and project management skills; volunteer management experience; comfort giving feedback and direction; experience with PowerPoint, Google Suite or similar; familiarity and appreciation for liberal religion.Preferred QualificationsExperience with public relations, membership, marketing, or fundraising; process and strategy development; experience writing or designing marketing materials; QuickBooks or accounting experience; Unitarian Universalist affiliation.Applicants of color and LGBTQ applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.To apply, please submit a resume and cover letter.Job Type: Part-timePay: $19.00 – $23.00 per hourBenefits:Flexible scheduleCOVID-19 considerations:Employees are required to be fully vaccinated.Ability to commute/relocate:Boulder, CO 80303: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: One location
