Position : Plant Production Manager

Job Description : Summary: To manage a team of Paper Converting Line personnel and associated departments to facilitate and apply company goals and initiatives, with respect to Safety, Quality, Housekeeping, Productivity, Attendance and Training. Gauge and measure all personnel and process assets for continued improvement, while using current good manufacturing practices, (CGMP), to sustain and optimize productivity while minimizing down time.Responsibilities: · Lead standard communication meetings as required to review Safety, Quality, Housekeeping, Productivity, Training and Attendance, using Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP’s).· Drive a culture of positive and progressive attitudes, with a “Can Do” approach, driven by “Operations Excellence” philosophy.· Drive, gauge, measure, and report company Key Initiatives, consisting of, Safety, Quality, Housekeeping, Productivity, Training and Attendance, using Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP’s).· Verify process systems and conditions are maintained to produce a product to specifications as well as sustaining and increasing productivity.· Actively plan labor resources and ensure hiring and training plans are in place to support the Operating mission.· Strong understanding of process capabilities as they relate to product specifications and process optimization.· Effective communicator with operational personnel (including back shift) as well as management.· Ensure all employees are treated fairly and equally.· Maintain and open mind to comments and suggestions by employees and management for continued improvement and or problem solving.· Lead leadership audit process to verify safety, quality, and company rules and regulations are being followed.· Participate in optimal productions scheduling balancing customer needs and operational efficiencies· Diagnose and troubleshoot processes or process equipment to implement Root Cause Analysis Techniques and communicate to the Technical Team for resolution.· Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all time.· Follow and adhere to all company policies, requirements, and mandates.· Provide direction and own process to manage spare and replacement parts to sustain productivity as well as planned preventative maintenance and outages.· Assist with technical services and support as needed.· Work with operations and production personnel to correct equipment and process issues. Implement improvement processes as well as identifying any specific needs for preventative maintenance, modification, retrofit, rebuild or replacement.· Verify all reports are being accurately completed in the time frame required. (Production reports, quality inspections, material usage, and other reports operators are required to complete.· Perform administrative functions, based on company guidelines, and including but not limited to employee evaluations, employee reviews, time off request, job descriptions, job safety analysis, training documentation development, conflict resolution, disciplinary forms, incident reports, training reviews, employee termination, etc.· Interface with other departmental Team Leaders to share resources as well as participate in a team environment.· Communicate with senior management on all issues involving day to day maintenance issues and challenges.· Verify employees are completing training in compliance with the guidelines and training checklist.· Ensure employees can perform the job they are assigned to and take corrective action when required.· Actively promote the appropriate leadership behaviors to support the facility safety program and company driven safety initiatives for all departments. Participate with enforcing safety policy and procedures on a continuous basis.· Actively promote the appropriate leadership behaviors to support the facility Quality program and compliance to appropriate Quality regulations.· Lead the loss control/waste reduction initiative in all production areas. Work with department team leaders to develop waste reduction and loss control protocols and procedures, to train line personal. Establish reporting metrics to identify trends, progress and areas which require improvement.· Participate as request with various project initiatives, including, but not limited to, Facility Outages, Machine Rebuilds, Capital Projects, Machine Installations, OEM or Supplier Technical Visits and Training.Housekeeping: · Champion 5S and grow program from pilot to full implementation· Hold team accountable for the housekeeping in all assigned areas and responsibilities.· Keep personal work area clean and orderly.Safety: · Take necessary actions to identify and correct all safety hazards and or violations.· Conduct safety meetings as required by OSHA and governmental guidelines.· Actively model and support the total commitment to safety in all we do.Qualifications: · Four (4) year Bachelor of Science preferred in a technical discipline or Two (2) year Associates Degree with Five (5 +) years of proven operations experience.· Five (5) years working experience as an Operations Team Leader.· Basic knowledge of computer use, proficient math skills, basic mechanical aptitude, problem solving and root cause analysis skills.· Lean tool fluencyPreferred Qualifications: · Five (5) years working experience preferably in a manufacturing and or technical discipline and environment.· Excellent communication skills.· Demonstrate servant leadership principles· Working knowledge of “Excel Microsoft Word and Power Point”· Demonstrated ability to manage a team of production workers.Other: · Ability to work safely in a Multi-Functional, Multi-Skilled team environment.· Ability to handle multiple priorities and initiatives.· Strong problem solving, decision making and conflict resolution skills.· Ability to travel with advance notice.Job Type: Full-timePay: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per yearSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Manufacturing: 5 years (Required)Management: 3 years (Preferred)Language:English/Spanish (Preferred)Shift availability:Day Shift (Required)Work Location: One location
