Job Description : Hawaiian Africana Youth Enrichment Program (HAYEP) Program Education Specialist Qualifications Required: Bachelor of Science of Arts, or master’s degree, preferably in a field related to education, museum studies, history, or anthropology. Must possess a strong multicultural awareness, positive outgoing personality, and the ability to lead is required. A background and interest in youth education (Middle School or High School) is strongly desired. Some flexibility in work schedule may be required. Reliable transportation (travel to local schools) is required.Narrative of Duties: Obama Museum is seeking a “Program Education” to support our mission and carry out museum’s diverse Youth Enrichment Program for the 2022-2023 school year. As a program educator, you will execute an in-school program and virtually and or in person for Middle & High School students to engage in learning about diverse cultures in an effort to promote and embrace the blended cultures through a customized curriculum designed to complement DOE’s existing core history and elective objectives.Your responsibilities will include working closely with classroom teachers to establish a semester/school year calendar for HAYEP lessons; customizing lesson plans as needed; facilitate dialogue about ethnicity, culture, and history; evaluating the success of this curriculum and making adjustments as needed, taking attendance; and other administrative tasks as needed by the program.HAYEP is the flagship educational outreach program of the Obama Museum. It is our mission to preserve, perpetuate & promote the history about Hawaiian Africana settlers, their descendants, & contemporary contributions to educate PreK to 12.Deadline for Application: Start Date: ASAPHourly Rate: $28Work Schedule: Dates and Times to be determined.
