Position : Research Analyst (US, Washington, DC), Multiple Foreign Languages
Job Description : We are excited to be expanding our research team and are looking for Research Analysts with foreign language skills, along with strong research and writing skills, at varying levels of experience. Professional proficiency in one or more of the following languages is required: Portuguese, Spanish, Mandarin, German, Russian, Hebrew, French, Arabic. These full-time positions are located at our metro accessible office in Reston, Virginia, and include excellent benefits (e.g., health, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off).
A Day In the Life of the Research Analyst
Our Research Analysts are forward-thinking individuals who use their proven skills and experience to conduct online, open and primary source research across the entire due diligence spectrum, from basic screenings to investigative matters. Our experienced Research Analysts independently handle research to oversee projects involving multiple team members and outside consultants.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct research into subjects by using a variety of Internet-based resources and tools.
Correctly identify relevant information and conduct additional research, where / when necessary, so as to provide all findings in correct context.
Comprehend details of research findings and correctly analyze / summarize their significance.
Create well-written, narrative-style reports that “tell a story” and show understanding of who the subjects are and any issues / concerns.
Capably handle all administrative tasks required of the role, including opening/closing matters, making sure cases stay on track, invoicing clients in a timely manner, etc.
Experienced Research Analysts will participate in and/or lead due diligence research, internal training and coordinate with outside consultants and investigators to ensure quality, timeliness and consistency.
Perform other duties as needed.
Required Education & Experience
Professional proficiency in one or more of the following languages is required: Portuguese, Spanish, Mandarin, German, Russian, Hebrew, French, Arabic.
Undergraduate or graduate degree in a major that required intensive qualitative research and report-writing skills (e.g., English, Journalism, International Relations/Affairs, or other related areas).
Prior work experience in a professional setting – ideally in a qualitative research- and writing-intensive work environment.
Avid interest and developed skills in Internet / online database research, preferably to include experience with resources such as Lexis Nexis.
Highly developed comprehension, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Superior attention to detail and professional communication (oral and written) skills.
Proven ability and desire to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
