Job Description : Abbott House is seeking Child Care Workers for our Group Homes in Pleasantville, NY.Hourly Rate: $19.25/hourNewly hired, full-time, Child Care Workers will receive a $2,000 bonus after completion of 1-year of active, full-time employment.Abbott House offers low cost medical insurance, PTO accrual, tuition assistance, child care referral assistance, retirement plan, and moreJob Summary: Provides for the direct implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the youth’s service plan. The child care worker also provides for the youngster’s individual and group services, including counseling and group skills’ development, as well as for the day-to-day safety and ensures day-to-day routines of the youth are maintained. The counselor assists the youngsters under his care in the accomplishments of their daily schedules and in the care of their daily hygiene, food preparation, and morning and nighttime routines. The Child Care Worker also ensures that the residences are clean and safe.Job Responsibilities: Ensures that children are provided with a clean and safe environment.Attends parent-teacher conferences and other school activities.Informs the Child Care Supervisor of any problem affecting the functioning of the residence.Manages the transportation of children to and from approved destinations.Manages the purchase and preparation of food.Evaluates the clothing needs of children and the purchasing of these items.Becomes acquainted with the community and its resources and maintains positive community relationships.Attends planning meetings, seminars and treatment sessions.Assists in scheduling medical and dental appointments for the children and sees to it that these appointments are kept.Prepares regular written reports, in the form of Logs and Critical Incident Reports.Any other related duties as required.Job Requirements: High School Diploma/GED RequiredValid Driver’s License required.Experience working with emotionally disturbed youth a strong plus.Job Type: Full-timePay: $19.25 per hourBenefits:Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftSupplemental Pay:Bonus payEducation:High school or equivalent (Required)License/Certification:Driver’s License (Required)Work Location: One location
