Job Description : Salmon Roe Processing LeadAlaska General SeafoodsKetchikan, AKAlaska General Seafoods is looking for an organized, self-motivated person to join our team as the Salmon Roe Processing Lead. This position will report to the Salmon Roe Department Supervisor. This is a unique opportunity to work in an exciting, fast-paced environment during the summer in beautiful Southeast Alaska.Responsibilities: The ideal candidate for Alaska General Seafoods’ Salmon Roe Processing Lead will have adequate experience with Chum and Pink Salmon Roe to produce Ikura and Green Roe for domestic and export markets. Must be well versed in the process including knowledge of grading, brine application, mixing, agitating, inspecting and packing Ikura according to grade and weight to meet the needs of the sales team. We are looking for a self-starter with strong communication skills and attention to detail who will be able to maintain the highest quality and uniformity for market acceptance. As the lead the candidate will be able to provide their expertise in the production process, instruct new graders, and work closely with quality control to produce a Ready-to Eat product that meets our requirements and upholds our reputation for quality.Location: Ketchikan, AlaskaTransportation: Transportation to and from Ketchikan, Alaska will be provided.Accommodations: On-site housing will be provided. Meals will be provided.Duration: Seasonally Mid-June to Early SeptemberHours: Must be able to work 7 days per week, 12-16 hours per day.
