Job Description : Maintenance Team Member – Seasonal (Alaska)We are a Premiere Sport Fishing Lodge, located in a remote area of Alaska.Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for assisting the Director of Maintenance and team in the maintenance of the entire lodge, dock and all of the shore side buildings and facilities as needed. Will assist with daily fish processing when needed. Evening Dock Duty in rotation with other team members. Start-up and shut down procedures of the Lodge. Completing final inventory of supplies, stores and materials pertinent to the maintenance department. Other duties as assigned. Must be available at all times to anticipate guest needs and to assist guests in whatever way is necessary. Assist with keeping all maintenance shops and work areas clean and organized. Track maintenance related inventory and advise the Maintenance Team Leader so that supplies can be ordered in a timely manner. Assist with arriving and departing guests/floatplanes, including guest luggage as needed. Interact with guests daily to ensure that they have a memorable Alaskan fishing experience. Work within established policies regarding safety, sanitation and accident prevention principles. Maintenance and upkeep of all landscaping throughout the Lodge. Responsible for cleanliness of personal quarters and common areas.Qualifications: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools and their uses. Ability to carry heavy loads for extended periods of time including up multiple flights of stairs. Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required. Previous grounds keeping experience a plus. Must be willing to learn new skills and procedures. Willingness to work approximately 100 days continuously (no days off).Expectations: We operate a high end Sport Fishing Lodge in Alaska at a remote site. Management expects superior performance from employees in personal hygiene, professional contact with guests and good relations with other employees. We look for excellence in attitude and work ethics. All employees must be willing to put in long hours and be capable of handling a split shift position. During season we work 7 days a week with no off days. Long breaks in the middle of the day. Turnover day is very hectic and busy, each employee is expected to pitch in with the work to provide a smooth and undetectable transition. Team member appearance gives our guest the impression of the quality of our service and the cleanliness of our lodge. We insist on a neat, professional appearance when guests are present. We are a non-smoking lodge and all team members are required to submit to a drug-screening test, prior to employment. Alcohol use is very limited and excessive drinking will lead to immediate dismissal.Hard Work, High Rewards, Salaried position paid monthly.
