Position : Arts Instructor
Job Description : The Seattle Artist League is looking for instructors to teach at our new studio opening soon in Georgetown, Seattle. We are looking for arts instructors to teach summer youth programs, and/or adult classes year round. Youth camps include photography, drawing, painting, and ceramics. If interested, please provide qualifications, and suggest classes within your area of expertise. Days and hours are flexible, depending on workload and availability.Additional PositionsWe will also be hiring instructors for year round adult classes in drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, ceramics wheel-throwing, ceramics hand-building, and ceramics figurative sculpture, and a lab tech for the ceramics department. These are different jobs that could potentially overlap, to be held by highly qualified individuals. If interested in multiple positions, please reference all relevant positions in your response.Position Specific AccountabilitiesDevelop art curriculum, materials, and programs.Teach summer teen camps.Ensure proper safety and classroom management procedures.Provide a positive learning environment.Keep the studio clean and organized.Interact with people in a way that reflects the League’s values.QualificationsExperience developing curriculum and teaching.3 years of work experience in an environment with any combination of training, education, experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in visual arts, fine arts, or a related field.Must pass a criminal background check.Related arts website or arts active social media a plus.
