Job Description : Manages the day to day ATV operations of Glacier Point. Ensures employees adhere to company policies and procedures.  Responsible for the training and development of camp staff.  Performs all aspects of the Glacier Point guiding positions.MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for ensuring our guests, employees, and animals experience the “E.X.C.U.R.S.I.O.N. of a lifetime” and making sure this experience is extended to non-employees our staff members encounterResponsible for safety of our guests, employees, and animalsEnsures employees’ adhere to the company’s service standards, policies, and procedures and answers any questions or concerns employees or guests may have regarding policies and proceduresResolves guests’ concerns and/or complaints as well as provides employees with guidance in handling these situationsResolves any employee conflicts or situations that may ariseResponsible for scheduling staff while keeping overtime to a minimum and adjusting the posted schedule as needed when daily tour numbers are receivedInventories suppliesEnsures equipment is properly maintainedRegularly attends manager meetingsTrains and instructs employees in job performance and conformance to the company’s service standards, policies, and procedures or arranges for the training to be providedDocuments employees’ performance via completing a monthly evaluation form and turning that into Upper ManagementResponsible for handling employee discipline issues and discussing job performance problems with employees to identify causes and concerns and to work on resolving themProvides employees with consistent feedback, both positive and negative, and recommends appropriate action as neededSets monthly performance goals with employees and monitors their progress towards themMaintains open communication between Glacier Point and other areas of the company including Upper ManagementMaintains safety equipment and suppliesADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:Performs all aspects of the Glacier Point ATV Guide positions.ALL POSITIONS IN COMPANY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING:Adhering to all company policiesStriving to accomplish goals discussed with management during any evaluationsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities related to canoeing/kayakingMust possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities related to ATV (All-terrain vehicles)Must be able to work on the waterExcellent communication skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tactSkilled in guest attentiveness as demonstrated by responsiveness to the needs and wants of our guestsSkilled in maintaining a positive attitude at all times even when handling difficult and/or stressful situationsAbility to memorize, recall, and present information and factsAbility to make oral presentations that engage an audienceAbility to initiate interaction with guestsAbility to work well within diverse groups to achieve common goalsAbility to be detail-oriented and use good judgment when it comes to safetyAbility to work in a fast paced work environmentAbility to assume and complete tasks without direction and with little supervisionQUALIFICATIONS:Valid driver’s license or the ability to attain oneAbility to work irregular work schedulesHold CPR and First Aid certification and be willing to obtain WFR certificationENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:All work is performed outside, so will be subject to possible adverse weather conditions and variations in temperature.Will be subject to noise, to include but not limited to, constant engine noiseWill be subject to dust, odors, and contact with water and/or other liquidsWill be subject to hazardous conditions (working with different machinery, etc.)PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF THE JOB:Must be able to lift and carry a 40lb weight for a distance of 200 feetPosition involves frequent (usually at least 2.5 hours a day but no more than 5.5 hours a day) standing, walking, handling objects, grasping items, & manipulating machinery and small itemsPosition involves occasional (usually no more than 2.5 hours a day) sitting, carrying, balancing, bending, stooping, and kneelingNote: The statements in this document are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees.
