ROLE SUMMARY:
The HE BDR (Business Development Rep) will be accountable for 100-120 retail accounts with specific volume, distribution, display and POS execution goals. The HE positions focuses on the premium and super premium portfolio (craft & import brands). This position involves a considerable amount of time in market visiting on premise and off premise retailers, consumer activation support and building existing and new relationships to forge strong partnerships. The position works very closely with Anheuser Busch wholesaler partners; team leads, sales reps and merchandisers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Builds partnership with wholesaler management, team leads, sales reps, sign-shop, local commercial director and the regional HE Director.
Responsible for all HE sales performance of 100-120 accounts in key on premise and off-premise accounts
Improves sales velocity in accounts by building displays, driving distribution, resetting coolers, displaying POS items, educating retail employees, hand selling, sampling, securing features, and developing promotional programs.
Follows consistent store visit schedule with monthly KPI goals
Works closely with local wholesaler sales professional on the HE Portfolio which includes (team selling, brand education, trade solutions, training, ride-withs, samplings and whatever it takes to get the job done!)
Communicates with HE Manager and wholesaler inventory manager on inventory levels using past sales history, sales data tools, and changes in climate, competitive activity and special promotional activities.
Executes events and promotional activities – sampling, engraving, training (may include evenings and weekends)
Reviews target account analysis and reports to ensure brands are performing at the top of class levels for all assigned accounts.
Uses Power BI, VIP iDig, IRI and BIR to identify sales opportunities on route or in key zips
Adheres to federal and state alcoholic beverage laws
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management or similar field.
3+ years of sales or marketing experience in beverage/alcohol industry preferred.
Certified Beer Server or Certified Cicerone preferred.
Familiar with VIP iDig, IRI, BIR, Power BI, Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
Conducts work in a standing and sitting position; however, job requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and light lifting.
Job requires the ability to be in physical retail locations, late night activations and travel.
SKILS & ABILITIES:
Profound knowledge of craft beer and brewing process.
Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to adjust a message to the audience.
Highly-creative’ able to generate fresh, impactful ideas and see them through to implementation.
Proven ability to think and move between strategic and analytical thinking as well as actual execution.
Ability to coordinate brand information, supply POS material, and keep lines of communication open with state’s wholesaler network in order to better sell through products.
