Job Description : Job Title: Director of Operations
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Supervisory Requirements: Yes
FLSA Status: Exempt
The Director of Operations is a critical member of the Operations team. Duties include overall operations of the Gifting facility, including overseeing budgets; production; inventory; quality assurance; warehouse; logistics; safety and maintenance.
Additionally, this individual and their team will be responsible for interfacing with corporate resources to ensure overall customer demand is met.
Responsibilities and Objectives:
Lead of facility operations to include budgets; production; inventory; quality assurance; warehouse; logistics; safety and maintenance
Develop short and long-range objectives, strategies, monitor and report performance vs. objectives and initiatives
Play a vital role in the communicating, connecting, and leading at all levels of the organization
Provide leadership, education, support, motivation, development, and direction to both supervisory and line-level staff
Responsible for fulfillment rate, shrink, and on-time product shipment
Ensure consistent and common methodologies, controls, and practices across all projects / areas of the business
Plan and schedule overall demand to ensure timely shipping schedules are met
Analyze existing processes and workflows, identity opportunities, account for variances, drive root cause analyses and implement improved methods and procedures for all functional areas
Responsible for development and management of dashboards and metrics to manage facility
Create standard operating procedures and best practices for performance monitoring to maximize efficiencies
Define information systems, technology, or automation requirements to support higher volume, future growth
Maintain facility and operations to ensure compliance with AIB Regulatory requirements
Implement and direct all facility employees to follow FDA and GMP requirements
Lead safety initiatives and compliance for the facility
Manage cross functional relationships with key stakeholders and leaders across the business to ensure cross functional support and knowledge sharing
Participate in industry organizations and other networking opportunities to bring in and share best practices
Must be willing to dive into problems, take ownership, and lead to solutions
Qualifications
A minimum 7 years experience in food industry is required
4-year degree in a relevant field or equivalent job experience preferred
Prior experience managing a seasonal business required
Prior experience with Discrete and Lean Manufacturing preferred
Excellent proven project management skills required
Excellent operations system skills including production and manpower planning, shop floor management and lean manufacturing required
Ability to effectively communicate throughout the organization required
Quality system knowledge required (AIB; BRC, etc.)
Ability to speak and understand Spanish preferred
