Position : Director, Procurement

Reporting to the VP, Commercial Transactions, the Director, Procurement guides both the strategic and project level procurement teams for RES Americas across the Solar, T&D, Energy Storage and Wind market segments. Maintain a high level of market expertise. Track and reports on essential market drivers such as government policy, commodities and other macro factors affecting RES’s essential suppliers and clients. Manage essential supplier relationships, developing new suppliers, and maintaining industry presence. Manage the purchase of goods and services to improve project budgets.
Leadership Accountabilities:
Develop direct reports including individual contributors and people managers to foster contract management and supplier management.
Lead Procurement team, including individual contributors and people managers to meet our expectations for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and safety through goal management.
Delegate appropriate responsibility and empower employees to guide P&L specific procurement activities across T&D, Solar, Storage, and Wind.
Work with Human Resources to recruit and employ outstanding talent.
Maintain work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, PTO, remote work, coverage for absenteeism, and managing overtime.
Maintain transparency through department meetings, one-on-ones, appropriate email, and instant messaging.
Provide performance feedback through employee recognition and corrective action with the assistance of HR.
Responsibilities:
Drive schedule-based accountability for all procurement activity on a project by project basis.
Ensure supplier and subcontractor offerings support achievement of essential project milestones.
Lead team to achieve or improve upon construction budget targets through buy-down of scopes.
Use global supplier relationships and RES pipeline to guide favorable pricing and terms with essential strategic suppliers.
Lead team in negotiation with suppliers and sub-contractors.
Research new suppliers.
Follow and report on market trends including commodity trends, and essential technology advancements of major equipment suppliers.
Maintain close control of department operational budget.
Review project performance data and variance to budget to monitor departmental productivity, and overall effectiveness.
Work with Operations, Finance, Project controls and other teams to:
Implement systems that plan and perform the work to fulfill the goals of the business and the department.
Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output
Maintain relevant controls and feedback systems to monitor the operation of the department.
Manage the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to manage the responsibilities of the department. Prepare periodic reports for management to track strategic goal accomplishment.
Follow safety and security procedures and promote safety culture. Report potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Advanced financial and budgeting skills
Comfortable with executive presentation
Market awareness and business development skills
Experience with commercial terms and conditions
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a four-year college or university, or 10 years equivalent experience.
Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Finance.
Minimum of 10 years related experience increasing responsibility to include 2 years of supervisory tasks.
BTEC, HND/HNC or NVQ certifications are desirable.

Perform sedentary office tasks with occasional travel to other Company offices or construction sites. You may occasionally lift up to 10 pounds and may be asked to sit, stand, walk and use a computer.
Construction site environment includes early stage permitting, development and auditing through finished roads and features. Extensive travel with driving to remote sites along with office work in field conditions is also included.
We maintain a drug-free workplace. You must pass a pre-employment background investigation and drug test as a condition of employment.
Anticipated base salary range: $150,000- $180,000
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. You will be bonus eligible.
