Job Description : Laboratory TechnicianJob Type: Full-TimeStarting Wage: $19/hr.OVERALL JOB PURPOSEHeadquartered in Colorado Springs, CO, TriLabs, a leading manufacturer of supplements and topicals, is looking for a Food Scientist.Looking for a food scientist who can use chemistry, biology, and other sciences to study the basic elements of food. They analyze the nutritional content of food, discover new food sources, and research ways to make processed foods safe and healthy.Additional duties will be to follow all standard operating procedures and work instructions to support formulation and manufacturing operations.MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSNeed an bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, crop or animal science, or a related fieldMust be able to understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Standard Operating ProceduresMust be able to follow regulatory and company policies and guidelinesAbility to follow directions accurately and efficientlyExperience working for a fast-paced manufacturing environment; Food science, Body care or Nutraceutical industry preferredAbility to use computers for data entry, and labor reportingDemonstrated attention to Quality and SafetyAbility to effectively communicate in English via speaking, writing, and readingRESPONISBILITIES INCLUDE…evaluating the nutritional value,color, flavor and texture of foodensuring that food manufacturing processes conform with government, processing, consumer and industry standardsexploring alternative manufacturing methodsproducing new food productsworking closely with other food production staff including production managers, manufacturing technicians, packaging specialists, and clientsestablishing low-cost wholesale food production methodsinvestigating and setting standards for safety and quality.OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAdheres to existing corporate policies and procedures in the production department, including Regulatory, Quality, Safety, cGMP’s, and Good Housekeeping guidelines and programs (information on corporate policies will be provided upon hire).Able to create batch card instructions and steps to produce a high quality product.Conducts assigned work in a safe manner and adheres to Company safety regulations and policies.Conducts quality checks and monitors key control points as established in Batch cards, SOPs, or work instructions.Follows proper equipment/room quality metrics to ensure a high quality product.Maintains neat, concise, and accurate records for all associated documentation.Perform other job duties and responsibilities, as assigned.WORK ENVIRONMENTA large percentage of the time is spent in a manufacturing environment where noise level can be moderate to high.Duties are performed in a ventilated and air conditioned manufacturing environmentThe environment involves working with substances containing allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, wheat, and soyTRILABS MANUFACTURINGTriLabs Manufacturing is dedicated to creating a happier and healthier lifestyle for people and pets alike.For more information about the company, visit: trilabsmfg.comTriLabs Manufacturing is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in our company.
