The International Paper Olympia Plant is recruiting to fill an hourly entry-level production position on the team. New hires are eligible to receive $1500 in signing and retention bonuses in the first year of employment while earning a starting wage of $20.33 per hour. Better yet, we pay wages based on job classification and entry-level machine helpers earn $22.65 per hour. Successful candidates are motivated individuals who are capable of performing a variety of tasks in a flexible, fast-paced manufacturing environment. A successful candidate is a worker who understands the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality and productivity. Prospective employees must be willing and able to work on any shift in a 24-hour operation in a non-climate controlled environment that requires the use of hearing and eye protection and safety shoes. Some weekend and overtime work at the overtime rate is required.
As a general laborer, you will assist machine operators in processing corrugated sheets according to written specifications/diagrams. You will be responsible for assisting with routine machine set-ups, quality checks (including proper measurements) and identifying potential problems with the product. Additionally, you will be responsible for administrative work such as tracking and reporting data related to production metrics. These responsibilities are performed in a fast-paced environment that prioritizes safety and quality. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Move or lift heavy objects
Maintain production or work records
Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications
Clean rooms or work areas
Adjust production equipment/machinery set-up
Clean equipment or machinery
Monitor production machinery/equipment operation to detect problems
Sort manufacturing materials or products
Load, unload or stack containers/materials and product
Other duties as assigned
