Job Summary
Dominion Energy is seeking to add a GIS Technician to our team in Richmond, VA. The role is responsible for GIS data conversion tasks including scanning, georeferencing, digitizing and attribution. Works in GIS and database applications which model utility distribution systems. Requires understanding of functional business processes as they relate to design, construction and operations and working understanding of data attributes that support these business processes. Performs and manages QA/QC processes. Must be available to work emergency and planned overtime.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
0-2 years of GIS related experience
Experience with ArcGIS preferred
Preferred knowledge of utility distribution systems
Good computer skills and proficiency working in various software applications such as Microsoft Suite
Problem resolution skills
Ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to handle changing and emerging priorities
Interpersonal, customer service skills
Verbal and written communication skills
Preferred CAD type drawing skills
Analytical and detail oriented
Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above.
Education Requirements
Education Level: Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Associate
Other Education: Computer Science, Drafting and Design, Engineering Technology, Geography, GIS
