Position : Hand – Frac
Job Description : Job Summary:
Frac Hand is an entry level position for new hires to become familiar with the water transfer process.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities and job tasks for this position include the following:
Arrives on site to work on time and fit for duty
Ability to work both in a team environment and independently
Maintains a professional appearance and a good attitude
Helps to maintain a clean and safe worksite
Equipment rig up and rig down and prepare equipment for the job
Properly and safely lift and/or move equipment using lifting tools
Select the correct lifting and rigging equipment and perform visual inspection to ensure fit for use
Tear down and rebuild product line specific equipment as per work instructions
Perform on location inspection and function test of tools,
Repack valves and chokes on location
Must complete proper paperwork as needed
Participate in JSA specific to job tasks at hand at the facility or customer’s location
Performs work with a high level of quality under the direct supervision of Lead Operator
Job requires constant attention to water levels in tanks to avoid overflows or waterfalls
Lay down heavy hose that will be used to move water from a source to a customer job site using motorized equipment or by hauling it by hand
Remove heavy hose at the end of a job
Monitor water tank levels and adjust how much water is flowing through it as needed
Maintains a constant focus on learning and process improvement
Complies with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines
Performs other duties as required for which the employee is qualified and trained
Required Skills/Abilities:
The minimum qualifications required for this job include the following:
Has reliable transportation to and from one of our yards or facilities
Valid driver’s license
Honesty, integrity and respect for the inviolability of reporting to clients
Able to read and write at a professional level in English
Education and Experience:
General oilfield experience is a plus
High school diploma or GED a plus
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
This position requires working under the following special working conditions:
Working outdoors in inclement weather
Working in an industrial setting including simultaneous operations with other service companies on the same location
Extensive travel in vehicles on highway and dirt roads
Two to three weeks away from home; housing is provided and can consist of rented residential houses, man camp trailers, campers, hotels, and motels
Extensive time standing
Extensive time on elevated surfaces
Job location and assignment can change frequently and with short notice
Extremely long shifts, 24 hours or greater, are rare, but possible
This job is physically demanding, including, but not limited to the following physical requirements:
Able to lift 50 lbs overhead
Must wear personnel protective equipment as required
Able to stand/walk for several hours at a time without rest
Able to climb ladders/stairs several times an hour throughout a shift
Perform repetitive, physical tasks with few breaks (e.g. swing sledgehammer)
