Our shared values include mutual respect, teamwork, superior service, professionalism, and confidentiality.Job Summary: Under supervision of the Clinical Support Manager, the Health Information Management (HIM) Transcriptionist is responsible for auditing and monitoring patient medical records to ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and quality initiatives. This position requires a detail oriented individual with superior organization skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced clinical environment.Specific Duties & Responsibilities: Ensures proper medical documentation requirements are complete for all patient medical exams in PenRad software.Performs quality control audits and corrects errors on exams. In the event of inconsistencies, provides follow up with the appropriate individuals on a daily basis for resolution.Scans and faxes reports to appropriate place for next step recommendations by radiologist.Prints logs in EPIC and InteleRIS software for various exams and procedures, which includes mammography, ultrasound and MRI modalities.Ensures reports are submitted to the appropriate physician for signature when required, tracking receipt of the signed documents.Obtains biopsy pathology results from email or fax machine, logs results, and prepares for radiologist to review.Calls NW Pathology lab on all Breast Care Center stereotactic, ultrasound and MRI biopsies to verify that the correct physician and radiologist is listed on the report. Faxes Lab Corp for Island Hospital to request completed reports.Prints and processes recall lists and letters on a weekly basis.Inputs pathology results into PenRad when available.Provides daily breast schedules for all locations to the SIP radiologist.Prepares additional mammography view call-back list for the call center.Provide optimal customer service and patient care, while utilizing AIDET service principles in all encounters.Attend and actively participate in all department, team and/or committee meetings.Comply with all company, department and location specific policies, procedures, and mandatory learning requirements.Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.Required Education, Training & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required.2+ years’ experience in a busy medical office, clinic, or hospital setting preferred.Previous medical records experience a plus.EPIC software experience a plus.PenRad software experience a plus.Radiology Information Systems applications and PACS experience a plus.Computer proficient; must be able to work with multiple programs and software simultaneously.Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of medical terminology.Superior organization skills and ability to multi-task.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent customer service skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills.Strict confidentiality and professionalism required.This position is open until filled.
