We are a specialty paper packaging manufacturer, supplying our customers with industrial and food-grade packaging products that are common in Super Stores and even our local restaurants.Benefits: 401k, Health Insurance, Life insurance, Profit Sharing, Bonuses, PTO, OTPay may be commensurate with experience.Machine Operator – SingleFacerThe responsibility of a Single Face operator is to set up the machine center with(two) large raw material paper rolls(up to 2 tons!). One Liner roll and one Medium roll, and then to guide this paper(up to 70″ wide!) into and through the Single Facer. The Single Facer, using heat, press, and starch will corrugate the medium paper, to flute the paper, before it is then bonded via a starch(food grade) adhesive to the paper liner. After successfully making good paper, the operator is then tasked with either rewinding the single face, corrugated paper into rolls up to 1300 feet! Or sheeted into various rectangle sizes to fulfill various needs in the industrial and food packaging industry.These employees are to perform miscellaneous duties that encompass the production of quality products at Packaging & Pads R-Us. Operators are responsible for both overseeing and taking part in the manufacturing and loading of a product, as well as the various jobs that arise throughout both the pre and post-production process. The machine operators will go through training in regards to safety procedures of the machinery before starting work, as well as throughout their employment.Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeading, overseeing and working in the manufacturing process of a productContinuously checking the quality of a product and ensuring that it is being produced according to specificationOverseeing that the line is running efficiently and that only quality product is being producedFollowing all safety policies and proceduresEnsuring that machinery and work area is being cleaned and sanitized as neededResponsibilities Specific to a Line 1 Rewinder Operator: Run controls for rewinding singleface into rolls for use on other equipment.Sets controls for the correct length of the rolls.Checks rolls for correct width and continues to count on the number of rolls produced.Monitors paper quality and alerts Supervisors when problems occur.Assists Operator on Corrugator paper roll changes.Removes rolls from shaft (rolls weigh approximately 60 pounds).Splices singleface web together on Bridge after roll changes and on startup.Stacks rolls onto pallets.Works with Operator to setup product by following customer specifications.Keeps a clean orderly work area.
