Job Summary
The Executive Assistant/Office Manager provides direct administrative support for the Commissioner of Higher Education and day-to-day administrative office operations.

Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the day-to-day administrative office operations.
Provide administrative support to the Commissioner.
Work closely with the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner to coordinate Board of Higher Education meetings and other events.
Provide administrative support to other associate commissioners.
Manage travel policy and support for OCHE employees.
Manage the day-to-day performance of OCHE Executive Assistants/Admins, including schedule, time-entry, preparation of performance evaluations and monitoring quality of work.
Maintain adequate office inventory by purchasing office supplies and other products through the outlined procurement process.
Manage office subscription payments and renewals.
Manage emails, phone calls and mail on a regular basis.
Prepare budgetary reports as requested by executive and senior leadership.
Mentor, coach and assist the Administrative Assistants, as needed to meet department goals and expectations.
Coordinate legislative activities, meetings and other events in support of the Commissioner’s priorities.
Coordinate day-to-day staffing needs.
Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
Occasional travel to the State Capitol or USHE institutions may occur.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalency; four years related experience; and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.

Availability to consistently work a standard schedule of 8am – 5pm each week (40 hours), with occasional overtime
