Job Description : This recruitment will be used to fill up to 4 seasonal positions, to begin immediately and can last through October of 2022.These positions will spend most of their time providing visitor services, collecting park fees, operating the visitor center and gift shop, as well as a variety of cleaning tasks.All staff will be involved in interpretive offerings and resource management as secondary responsibilities whenever possible depending on staffing and how busy the park is at any given point in time.Duties:Visitor Services: greet visitors, provide information and answer questions about park and area resources, collect fees using a computer-based point of sale system and following PCI guidelines, register and check-in campers, and educate visitors on park rules and regulationsMaintenance & Cleaning: general cleaning of restrooms, campsites, and yurts, as well as maintaining other park buildings, facilities, trails, and grounds. Projects may include general cleaning, painting, refuse management, rock and dirt work, removal of plant material and trees, and snow removalRetail: greet customers, answer questions about products, process sales using a computer-based point of sale system and following PCI guidelines, maintain a fully stocked retail floor, assist the retail manager with special projects and processing inventoryInterpretation: development and delivery of formal programs, blog posts and social media contributions, tabeling and trailing roving, as well as assisting the park ranger during programs and eventsPark Operations: follow park opening and closing procedures, complete accurate daily shift and accounting reports, and assist permanent staff with search & rescue operations which may include responding to medical, trauma and other incidentsOther projects as assignedPark Ranger Aides have the option of living on-site in a two-bedroom dormitory-style apartment with a shared bathroom, kitchen, and living room (however, a private bedroom is not guaranteed) at NO COST to the employee. Pets are NOT permitted for seasonal employees. Uniforms will also be provided at no cost to the employee.Employees are required to work weekends, evenings, and holidays in either four ten hours shifts or five eight hours shifts per pay week.Working conditions will require some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities, and recurring lifting, conditions may also include working extreme outdoor weather and in remote areas.A valid driver’s license required.Ability to perform many maintenance activities including: digging, raking, lifting, shoveling snow, etc.Physical ability to operate vehicles, off-highway vehicles, golf carts, and basic tools.Required state and agency training: Defensive driving, security awareness, and PCI security awareness, workplace harassment and abusive conduct prevention training, etc. within the first weeks of employment.Cell phone service and internet connectivity are very limited within the park.These are seasonal positions and do not qualify for state benefits such as health insurance, retirement, etc.For more information please call the park at (435) 259-2614.Salary: $14.00/hr (40 hours per week)Job Types: Full-time, TemporaryPay: $14.00 per hourSchedule:10 hour shiftHolidaysWeekend availabilityEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)License/Certification:Driver’s License (Required)CPR Certification (Preferred)Work Location: One location
