Job Description : Surgery Scheduling Job DescriptionLocation: 2111 W. University Dr., Mesa, AZ 85201Hours: Mon. – Fri. 7:00 am – 3:30 pmPay: Starting at $19.00 and goes up DOESchedule surgical procedures in person or over the phone.Coordinate combo cases with surgeon offices outside ACHSSPerform clerical duties such as answering phones, answering emails, maintaining patient’s surgical documents, upload surgical clearance, uploading surgical packets, uploading surgery consents/ PACU orders into the patients EMR.Coordinate in office procedures with the providers schedule based on the surgical needs of the provider.Schedule surgical procedures with Hospitals and Surgery Centers based on the providers call schedule/ preferences.Coordinate Surgical equipment with vendorsReview and obtain signatures on all preoperative paperworkCreate Surgical PacketsCoordinate Anesthesia coverage for same day, next day surgical proceduresFinancial counselingSet up post‐surgical appointment with the surgeon within time specified.Review Preoperative instructions with the patientWork surgical referrals created by the providers and actions daily‐ prioritize urgency.Create a daily surgery schedule and surgical log for all actions completedCustomer ServiceComplete surgery confirmation calls daily and answer any questions within your scope.Provide the patient with surgery literature, brochures in person or via secure email.Register new patient surgical patients (ED patients/ BUMCP and San Carlos patients)Communicate with the Doctors and midlevel’s regarding patient developments and concerns related to surgery.Other administrative duties as assigned by the Surgery Scheduling Manager** Desirable Experience ***EMR experience. eCW experience a plus!Medical Terminology2 years’ experience in surgery scheduling in a Hospital or ASC setting.Ability to efficiently communicate with surgeons, provider offices, department staff and patients.Works well in a group setting or individual setting based on company needsOrtho/Plastic experience a plusOrganizational SkillsBasic knowledge of ICD‐10 Codes and CPT CodesBilingual a plusJob Type: Full-timePay: From $19.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridayNo weekendsApplication Question(s):Would you agree to submit to a background screen if offered the position?Education:High school or equivalent (Required)Experience:Surgery Scheduling: 1 year (Required)Language:Spanish (Preferred)Work Location: One location
