Empire State Mines is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of UNDERGROUND MINER at its
underground zinc operation. This position is based at the Empire State Mine site in northern New York State.
Short commute – 10 miles from Gouverneur and 30 miles from Watertown

Mountains, and world-class skiing at Lake Placid

Responsibilities:
Operate and assist in maintaining underground heavy equipment such as jumbo drill, long hole drill,
mechanical bolter, manual & remote loader;
Work with the underground maintenance and mining team to support ongoing underground development and
production;
Adhere to all Company safety policies and procedures and MSHA regulations;
Complete daily pre-shift safety check and daily paperwork for job duties;
Work 10-hour shift, 5 day/night work week
Qualifications:
4+ years of underground heavy metal mining experience;
Able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his/her duties in a safe and efficient
manner;
Must be available to work day or night shifts as needed;
Must be willing to relocate to area to work 5 day/night work week
Salary Range: Contingent on experience, $23-$25 per hour base pay plus hourly contract payout and weekly overtime
