Job Description : The Administrative Assistant for the Yeshiva/Seminary Program provides advanced and diversified administrative support services and assistance to the Director of Yeshiva/Seminary Program
This position is required to maintain confidentiality of proprietary and private information and a customer-service focus while carrying out job responsibilities and will conduct business in a manner that will uphold the integrity and reputation of Fairleigh Dickinson University. This position maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres to the policies, regulations, and procedures of the University.
Required Qualifications:
1. High School degree required.
2. A minimum of two years of administrative experience, preferably in a complex academic environment, including office oversight responsibilities, experience with budget maintenance, and demonstrating strong organizational effectiveness and the ability to coordinate special programs and events.
3. Proficient knowledge of administrative and/or clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
4. Computer proficiency for word processing, spreadsheets, and data management required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook) preferred. Experience with Colleague a plus.
5. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively and responsively with a diverse student, faculty, and staff population with sensitivity to student needs.
6. Ability to handle a high volume of phone calls and personal contacts with students, faculty and staff in a professional manner and communicate clearly and concisely.
7. Ability to handle sensitive issues with decorum and maintain confidentiality.
8. Willingness and ability to occasionally work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends.
9. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
Preferred Qualifications: Hours Worked
16 Hours Weekly
