About the Position-
The Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent provides confidential administrative support to the Superintendent and the School Board. Additionally, this position exercises discretion and independent judgment regarding parent/guardian communications, grant applications, and professional development activities. Required Expericence-
Education and Experience: Five or more years of progressively responsible administrative support experience. Prior school district experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of general accounting and budget principles.
Skill in identifying problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
Skill in solving practical problems with a variety of variables.
Ability to accurately analyze budget data and identify and resolve discrepancies.
Ability to learn, understand, and apply laws governing School Board meetings and activities.
Ability to learn, apply, and explain District policies and procedures.
Ability to proficiently use scheduling, electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software and to learn new applications software.
Ability to compose clear and concise correspondence, memos, and minutes using appropriate business communication style.
Ability to compile and organize data into effective format for presentation.
Ability to communicate effectively with District staff and the general public using tact, courtesy, and diplomacy.
Ability to interact with a diverse clientele with tact and efficiency.
Ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
Ability to exercise good judgment and make independent decisions within scope of authority.
Ability to coordinate information and activities.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and establish work priorities to meet strict deadlines.
Ability to track detailed information and ensure completion of tasks.
Ability to create and maintain effective filing and record keeping systems.
Ability to schedule, train, and supervise assigned staff to assure timely and effective completion of work.

2021 – 22 Salary Schedule Range: $94,992 – 96,653 depending on continuous in District service
Work Shift: 8 hours day / 260 days per year

Benefits-
Our benefits package includes Washington state health insurance coverage (SEBB) and a Washington state retirement package for eligible positions. Eligibility for health insurance at the time of hire is determined by holding at least a .5 FTE continuing contract position, or being hired into a non-continuing position that is anticipated to reach 630 hours during the school year. Eligibility for retirement at the time of hire is determined by holding at least a .6 FTE contract (continuing or non-continuing).
