Job Responsibilities
WXTV Univision 41, serving the New York City metropolitan area, is looking for an Anchor/Reporter to join our award-winning news team for the 2-hour morning newscast and mid-day news show. The candidate requires an outgoing individual with excellent camera presence to uphold professional journalistic standards and ethics. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, work well under pressure and handle the demands of an early morning shift.
Live reporting during breaking news and special news events on location is required as well as making personal appearance on behalf of WXTV. The anchor will assume wide responsibility in gathering elements for the show in addition to contributing to special reports and day-of news stories for our newscast and social media platforms.
This position is represented by the AFTRA Union.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years Market TV experience; Prefer 5 years anchoring and reporting experience.
Excellent on-air presentation skills
Ability to communicate verbally in Spanish; must be Bilingual – Spanish/English
Ability to multitask
Ability to develop, write, edit and prepare stories for TV and digital platforms
Proficient with social media
Knowledge of NYC demo area a plus
Valid driver’s license required

Must be willing to work from Teaneck, NJ / NY
