Position : Communications Coordinator
Job Description : WABS is hiring for a Communications Coordinator to support communications for multiple programs and the overall organization.Position: Communications CoordinatorSchedule: Part-time, 20 hours per weekCompensation: $22-25 per hour, DOEBenefits: This position offers 15 days (60 hours) paid time off, 13 paid holidays (plus your birthday), and great flexibility.Reports to: Director of Development & CommunicationsLocation: Hybrid – combination of remote and in-person at our Shoreline, WA officeOrganization: Washington Alliance for Better Schools (WABS) is a collaborative of school districts and industry leaders that leverages resources, talent, and intellectual capital to help over a quarter million students graduate career and college ready.Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion statement: WABS is committed to addressing the systemic racism that creates disparities in education. We are committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion, which requires that we use our collective voice to identify and eliminate institutional barriers that deny equitable access and impact the success of Black, Indigenous, and people of color(BIPOC), and other underserved students.Job Duties: Contribute to content, research, and design of multiple newsletters created by the organization and individual programs.Contribute to content, research, and design of social media campaigns for the organization, individual programs, and special events.Support management of organization’s websites including content and technical updates.Support implementation of best practices for communications accessibility including translation, image descriptions, etc.Build and manage volunteer and/or intern support to successfully execute programs and organizational tasks.Prepare presentations, PowerPoint slides, updated documents, and marketing materials for the organization and programs.Support management of qualitative and quantitative data using spreadsheets and other data management tools.Prepare written and verbal communications.Support scheduling, special events, projects, and other duties as assigned.Desired Qualifications: Familiarity with social media content management across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc).Experience with WordPress or other similar website management softwareExperience using Constant Contact or other similar email marketing softwareExcellent written and verbal communications for a variety of audiencesFamiliarity and/or willingness to learn about communications accessibility best-practicesUnderstanding of and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion2+ years of experience and/or education in communications or related fieldTo Apply: Please submit your resume and cover letter.
