Job Description : PRI ProductionsDIRECTOR OF EVENTS AMELIA ISLANDPOSITION SUMMARYThe Director of Events position provides an excellent sales-driven leadership opportunity to oversee and collaborate with a fast-paced team of meeting planners directing conventions, conferences, events at THE Omni Amelia Island Resort. The position also provides the opportunity to interact and network with business executives from the travel and hospitality industry throughout the country, as well as city agencies, meeting planners and trade show managers.The primary responsibility of this position is to spearhead the sales and direction of conventions, conferences, events, and other long-term project management at THE Omni Amelia Island Resort. This role solicits and develops new business as well as responsible for retaining current clients through relationship building. The Director serves as the main point of contact for the resort’s convention services leadership team, executive hotel staff, meeting planners, private clients and internal colleagues at all levels. The position’s main objective is to provide clients with the highest level of customer service, ensuring that they bring their events back to THE Omni in subsequent years all while maximizing sales via new client relationships and event bookings. This position works with all internal departments (at THE Omni and PRI Productions), clients, sales personnel.RESPONSIBILITIES· Oversee the Events and Destination Services team by fostering a sales-driven workplace to achieve goals and provide growth to events departments at THE Omni Resort and PRI Productions· Manage portfolio of multi-day conventions, conferences, and annual events and follow through their proposal, sale, and execution· Provide unprecedented customer service to clients of THE Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort and PRI Productions· Fulfill all client needs by connecting them to products and services available to them through PRI Productions· Demonstrate consistently an exceptionally high level of responsiveness to all clients and convention services managers at THE Omni as well as internal colleagues and enforce a commitment to that amongst assigned team members· Handles incoming calls from individuals, corporations and associations for meetings, conventions, parties, galas, company events, etc.· Meets with client(s) and necessary hotel staff to discuss goals and objectives then designs an overall event plan; prepares a job cost and client proposal after engaging all necessary internal teams, then pitches the concept to the client to obtain approval· Serves as point person to all other internal teams necessary to creating and executing the client’s event to achieve the agreed-upon vision· Supervises vendors, partners, sponsors and exhibitors at events during set-up and execution of the program in full, or appropriately delegates to the responsible team member· Tracks all of company’s expenses to vendors and strictly manages adherence to event budget by reviewing all purchase orders and maintaining a high level of engagement with assigned team members.QUALIFICATIONS· Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent work experience in a hospitality, events, or related industry.· Minimum five (5) years of experience, preferably convention bureau, facility or hotel sales and convention services· Minimum of three (3) years sales and/or management experience in related field· Project management and sales experience preferred· Persuasive and concise verbal and written communicator· Must possess strong customer service skills· Ability to effectively delegate with follow-through and prioritize workload will be critical to success in this role· A passion for sales and customer developmentSalary Range 60k-65k plus commission.
