Job Description : Job Opening Summary
The Director of Patient Experience (DPE) is responsible for developing, implementing and tracking outcomes for systemwide service excellence programs and innovations that improve the overall experience for patients and their families. Collaborates with senior leadership, physicians, departments and business units to build support for creating the perfect patient experience. The DPE has direct oversight and operational responsibility for department and various programs that support the institution’s commitment to patient- and family-centered care, including, but not limited to, Patient Relations, Medical Interpreters, Language Access (Remote & VRI), Patient and Family Advisory and Grievance committees. Provides expertise in service recovery and cutting-edge patient service programs to achieve service-related strategic plan priorities. Oversees the coordination of the institution’s patient satisfaction survey process, including contract management, annual target setting process and analysis and utilization of results.
Job Opening Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a business or health care-related field (e.g., business, management, finance or accounting) required. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of five years of post-baccalaureate experience, preferably in a hospital/health care environment, required.
Customer service experience outside of health care is highly desirable.
Must possess strong analytical, interpersonal and leadership skills with knowledge of HCAHPs, CMS and patient satisfaction data, and quality improvement processes.
Must be able to demonstrate skills in creating vision, effecting change and facilitating transitions.
Must have knowledge and demonstrated application of research/data analysis skills.
Shift hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday
