Description of Work Unit
Together We Grow (TWG), is a non profit consortium of more than 50 of the world’s largest food and agribusiness companies, agriculturally focused non-profits, government agencies, and universities. The vision of TWG is to build a skilled, diverse, and inclusive workforce that will drive the innovation necessary to feed the future. The consortium believes that combining resources, collaborating on initiatives, scaling successful models, and learning from shared experiences will strengthen and enhance the food and agriculture sector with the diversity of talent needed to meet the pressing challenges our industry faces over the next thirty years.
The Executive Director works under the guidance of TWG’s Board and the Chancellor of the Colorado State University System. The Executive Director is a university employee with full access to the university’s benefits program.
Position Summary
TWG, in partnership with Colorado State University, is hiring an Executive Director for Together We Grow to catalyze efforts, accelerate impact, and support the mission. Together We Grow is committed to the following:Serve as a vehicle for consistent engagement of food and agribusiness partners in pursuit of enhancing the workforce in ways identified by the Together We Grow Consortium.Identify programs, provide active support for scaling successful activities, and assess outcomes of new TWG workforce initiatives using rigorous and systematic approaches.Collect information, support original research, and communicate best practices related to the current and future workforce for the agribusiness industry.Create a convening space for collaboration, conversations, and initiatives focused on a diverse and inclusive workforce.Engage a board from Together We Grow partners to provide shared leadership, vision, implementation, and regular assessment of TWG’s impacts;Create an accessible, dynamic, and high-profile physical presence at Denver’s new CSU Spur campus;

Required Job Qualifications
Advanced degree in a relevant field.
At least four years of relevant experience with general management.
Preferred Job Qualifications
Strong background in agriculture and/or related business, able to demonstrate excellence in articulating vision and producing results, building a team, knowledge in workforce development, ability to form strong partnerships, strong administrative talents, writing and presentation skills.
Demonstrated professional experience planning meetings and events and maintaining an executive calendar.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, agriculture, education, and workforce development.
Record of collaboration, ability to plan and execute, effective communication, and seasoned judgment.
Solid project management skills and experience.
Experience collaborating and engaging with multiple politically sensitive relationships and stakeholders.
Experience with non-profits preferred
The ideal candidate will be a creative, effective, collaborative leader able to navigate TWG effectively to implement the Board’s vision, mission, and long term goals.

Duty/Responsibility
– Responsible for the overall success of TWG, overseeing all business operations, people, partnerships and ventures
– Refine and advance a strategic vision for TWG.
– Develop and manage internal and external partnerships, including TWG’s membership, partners, and prospective members.
– Develop and execute TWG’s strategic vision and goals.
– This creative and entrepreneurial position requires a leader who is a self-starter capable of advancing a portfolio of members contacts to achieve engagement results and pipeline development objectives, while working effectively with internal and external partners
– Establish and maintain relationships with TWG member companies, promotes TWG as a workforce and economic development resource, and establish mutually beneficial partnerships across TWG’s membership
– Identify, effectively address, and plan for diverse organizational needs through strategic thinking, creative problem solving, and interpersonal skills
– Manage day-to-day operations of TWG by providing guidance to staff, and member organizations
– Manage a changing and growing organizational landscape and balance a wide array of organizational needs
– Lead implementation strategies related to workforce development and pipeline projects to benefit Together We Grow’s membership
– Collaborate with TWG membership, and the Colorado State University System, to leverage relationships, identify needs, share key outreach findings, engage staff/leaders in decision making, an manage follow-up conversations as appropriate.

– Manage the development of internal processes and policies
– Manage hiring, raises, performance reviews, and development of staff
– Fund and build staffing for TWG
– Manage and mentor TWG staff, including management of internal team and workflows
– Develop annual budget and provide budget guidance and oversight for projects
– Build business plans and financial models in order to attain the goals of the board and members.
– Raise funds and establish partnerships to support and expand diversity in food and agribusiness initiatives as set forth by the board.

– Manage multiple relationships with TWG members with minimal oversight from Executive Director
– Develop new member relationships and opportunities to grow existing member relationships
– Work with TWG members to develop and manage the design, writing, scoping and presentation of proposals for service and applied research for workforce development activities benefiting TWG’s members
– Manage and sustain quality with respect to member satisfaction, member retention, annual budgets, and internal team cohesiveness and development
