Position : Health and Safety Compliance Officer
Job Description : *****To be considered for a position with the City of Dayton, you must submit your application at jobs.daytonohio.gov *****ResponsibilitiesThe purpose of this position is to identify risks and prevent potential liability for the City of Dayton. This includes writing and implementing policies and procedures for loss prevention, safety and liability reduction, and minimizing Worker’s and Unemployment compensation claims’ expenditures. This position will also be responsible for training staff on appropriate safety risks and avoidance techniques. The incumbent will be expected to spend significant time during each workweek visiting City of Dayton job worksites to verify employee and supervisor compliance with City of Dayton, PERPP, or OSHA safety requirements.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, Organizational Behavior, Organizational Safety, or a Behavior Science AND 1 year of experience in training, counseling or coaching that would involve professionally working in one or more of the areas (i.e. Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Behavior, Safety or Human Services).ORAssociates Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, Organizational Behavior or a Behavior Science AND 3 years of experience in training, counseling or coaching that would involve professionally working in one or more of the areas (i.e. Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Behavior or Human Services).ORHigh school diploma/G.E.D AND 10 years of experience working in City of Dayton blue-collar or clerical ranks involving the physical operations of any of the City’s Water, Public Works or Aviation Departments (i.e., WUFO, Street Maintenance, Aviation Field Operations, etc.).
