Job Description : ROLE STATEMENT:
The HR Advisor will be a member of the Human Resources (HR) Department responsible for understanding and supporting policies and programs, as well as support and execution of generalist services. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the HR Advisor will also support the execution of key strategic Human Resources initiatives.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Provide effective communication with management regarding continuous improvement initiativesAble to research and assist in the development of policies and proceduresManage requirements to achieve corporate mandate of “Service First”Provide understanding and direction to members of the organization to meet the Corporate Code of Business ethicsSupports the delivery of a retention strategy that differentiates us in the marketplaceSupplies support and basic knowledge, as well as best practice experience to initiate, execute and drive workforce initiatives that establish and deliver effective on-boardingApplies field HR experience to support initiatives that underpin a performance based cultureWorking with senior HR Advisors, proactively educates and coaches managers/supervisors on employee relations, compliance, and workplace issuesEstablishes new practices, processes and policies that are compliant with legislation and aligned with the company’s core valuesExamples of programs include New Hire Orientation, Workforce Planning, Development of core competency model, Training course development, Employee Handbook, Launching of 360 toolDelivery of HR services across the organizationProviding support and guidance to managers on all people-related issuesSoliciting feedback with regard to existing programs and services, and seeking input for the development of new programs/servicesRepresenting the HR perspective in interactions across the organizationEffectively and efficiently resolving HR issues and providing HR supportContributing constructively to the development of HR processes and systemsExecuting revisions to current policies or assisting in researching and creating new policiesSupporting training programs and meetingsSupporting a safe, collaborative, and respectful working environment and culture
Participating in special HR projects e.g., job evaluation, employee recognition, employee survey

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor degree or equivalent and a demonstrated commitment to continuous educationPHR or SPHR desired5+ years of progressively complex HR experience requiredExperience in a growing and diverse organization in an industrial environment an asset
