Job Description : Katmai Water Taxi, LLC is seeking a seasonal Master Captain to operate a 40 ft passenger vessel in Katmai National Park, Alaska. Season will run May 20 – October 1, 2022. Room and board are Provided. Those who love the wilderness, wildlife, and people will enjoy this dream job! You must have experience with jet boats or larger vessels.Master captain USCG 50 ton or higher certificationPassion and respect for wildlife Strong situational awareness, good decision making skills, excellent judgment with regard to safetyAbility to remain calm under pressureAbility to live and work in a remote wilderness environment with limited servicesAble to work collaboratively as part of a teamFriendly and outgoingDetail orientedSafety orientedResponsible for safe and efficient operation of vessel, crew, and passengers.Responsible for navigation, station keeping, close quarter maneuveringResponsible to manage vessel upkeep and maintenance programsAbility to stand for long periods of timeAble to lift 50lbs or more over and overOther duties as assignedMust pass a pre employment drug test/ and regular random testingJob Types: Full-time, TemporaryPay: $3,500.00 – $6,000.00 per monthSchedule:10 hour shift12 hour shift8 hour shiftWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:TipsCOVID-19 considerations:Vaccinations are not required, but strongly encouragedEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:larger boat operation: 5 years (Preferred)License/Certification:USCG Master 50 ton or higher (Preferred)Work Location: One location
