NGHS is currently seeking a Mental Health Tech for our Behavioral Health Facility.
Full Time Days 7 Days on 7 Days off .

Department Overview

Laurelwood is part of Northeast Georgia Medical Center and is conveniently located on the Medical Center’s campus in Gainesville.
A 54-bed facility, Laurelwood is a private, not-for-profit, inpatient behavioral health facility dedicated to the stabilization and treatment of individuals with mental illness and/or substance abuse.

We are dedicated to providing high quality services that promote a positive therapeutic treatment experience.

Job Summary: Carries out a variety of patient care activities and clerical tasks which support the maintenance of the therapeutic milieu and which meet the patient’s needs for comfort and safety. Facilitates the communication process among appropriate personnel. Must be able to maintain personal composure when unit priorities quickly change. This position will care for patients in the child and adolescent age groups (if assigned to the PRN Pool this position will also care for patients in the adult and geriatric age groups). Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent; Preferred: Associates Degree or two years college equivalent
A minimum of two years of hospital experience preferred
Adolescent experience preferred

Physical Demands
Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs
Weight Carried up to 20lbs
Occasional kneeling/stooping/bending
Occasional standing/walking
Occasional pushing/pulling
Occasional intensive work, requires reading, writing, & talking
