Job Description : Family with main residence in Rancho Santa Fe (San Diego County), California with 3 and 5 year old girls is seeking a professional, experienced, and educated full-time nanny that is bilingual in Spanish and English (native Spanish speaking). Schedule will be on Monday – Friday at 8:00am – 5:00pm. Flexibility is required to work occasional later weekday evenings. The position requires flexibility as family’s schedule changes at various times in the year (e.g., summer, holidays, travel, etc.). Family spends at least 2-4 weeks of summer months at residence in New York. Approximately 10-15+ weeks of international and domestic travel per year is required (including summer months on East Coast) and approximately 1-2+ weeks of overnights at main residence when principals are traveling without children. Applicants need to be honest, trustworthy, understand the importance of maintaining discretion, collaborative and experienced working with other domestic staff (e.g., full-time housekeeper), experienced working with stay-at-home mom and principals that are at residence often (discreet and staying out of the way is important). Children are enrolled in Montessori private school, which is driving distance from the family’s residence. Staff vehicle is provided for transporting children. Family is open to local candidates and domestic relocations. Start date is flexible for the right candidate.RESPONSIBILITIES: Experienced with play-based learning and creating educational activities (e.g., planned engaging activities at home, developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts, themed weeks, scheduled outings, etc.)Knowledgeable about child development (e.g., firm when necessary and capable of teaching children manners and etiquette, but also capable of being laid back and fun)Support teaching and reinforcement of manners and other social skillsProvide developmentally appropriate games and activities, engaging projects and crafts at home and schedule/plan fun outings and eventsAssist children with homework and school projects (when age appropriate)Prepare fresh and healthy meals for children that introduce them to new foodsPack healthy lunches and prepare school bags for the next dayTransport children to and from school, scheduled activities, play dates, outings, etc.Domestic duties relating to children (e.g., washing dishes after meals, assistance with children’s laundry, tidying playroom and bedrooms, etc.)Organizational projects relating to children (e.g., taking toys and clothing to donation, changing clothing seasonally, rotating books and toys quarterly or bi-annually, etc.)Proactively create pack lists for travel, pack children for travel, research and plan activities at destination and ensure appropriate gear is available at hotel or other residencesWork collaboratively with other household staff (e.g., full-time housekeeper)Diligent team player and comfortable wearing many hats while working alongside principalsQUALIFICATIONS: Capable of building rapport with similar aged childrenExperienced working with similar aged children (toddlers, preschool, school aged, etc.)Experienced working with multiple children in nanny positionAbility to travel internationally and domestically when necessaryHighly organized, detail oriented, proactive, excellent time management, efficient and service focusedAttentive to principals’ preferences and style (intuitive to their needs)Observant to the needs of family to anticipate their needs (e.g., planning engaging activities at home, proactively planning activities for travel, etc.)Ability to maintain discretion (confidentiality agreement is required)Ability to be discreet with respect for employer’s privacyAbility to easily take directionStrong ability to communicate and collaborate efficiently and effectively with principalsPositive attitude and ability to handle position with ease and calm demeanorActive, energetic, engaging, nurturing and creativeProactive, resourceful and take initiative to get things doneAbility to multi-taskREQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degreeBilingual in Spanish and English (native Spanish speaking)3-5+ years of consistent and recent full-time nanny experience3-4 references from domestic positionsSeeking longevity (e.g., 2-5+ year commitment)Live a close proximity to the family’s residence in Rancho Santa Fe (San Diego County) or willingness to relocate within a reasonable commuteAbility to complete extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks, drug tests, and psychological evaluationDriver’s license and clean driving recordPediatric CPR CertificationVaccinations (e.g., COVID-19, MMR, TDap, Flu Shot)COVID-19 testing and antibodies testingTrustline certification is required by state of California (http://trustline.org)COMPENSATION: $100K+ gross annual salary (based on experience and qualifications)Health insurance coverage (including dental and vision)Three weeks (15 days) vacation paidFive sick days paidDiscretionary annual bonus and raise (performance evaluation required)Please read the job description carefully and kindly apply with your cover letter, resume, references (email address and phone number), and letter(s) of recommendation if you meet all of the requirements.
